Bear Creek High School seniors are out and about around Colorado spending their time with CFB farm and ranch families. 9News caught up with senior, Michaela Schuette and talked with her about the experience.
I took Senior Field Studies my graduating year of 2009. It changed my life. I had always seen farmers as the typical city boy might. I saw them as hillbillies or rednecks. I took for granted the large role they had on society. Once I stayed on a farm for 2 weeks through SFS, I saw how hard farmers worked to maintain a balance in our society. Thank you for all of your hard work, and helping me realize what goes on behind the shelves in a grocery store! I would live SFS all over again and wouldn’t change a thing.
Thank you so much for your comments! We cannot tell you how great it is to hear voices like yours, supporting the program. Its great that you now have a better understanding of food production and the people behind it. Make sure you tell as many people as possible about your experience and what you learned.
Thanks again for your support!
