Gingrich to Attend Energy Summit

Colorado Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that Speaker Newt Gingrich has declared he will attend the Colorado Energy Summit. In commenting on the Summit Speaker Gingrich said:

“I appreciate the opportunity to address the Colorado Energy Summit and discuss the dire need for a bold shift in domestic energy policy. It’s time to harness our country’s massive energy potential, put Americans back to work, lower prices at the pump and reinvigorate America’s manufacturing base by expanding access to affordable and reliable energy.”

The Summit will provide energy industry leaders, federal, state, and local officials an opportunity to discuss current energy issues and how development is transforming the nation and global energy markets. A highlight of the event will be appearances by both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, who will provide their views on responsible energy development and how it’s implementation is critical in helping move the nation forward. Both candidates will provide remarks and will be available for interviews with the media.

“We are excited to announce the attendance of Mr. Santorum, Mr. Gingrich and other influential public officials and industry leaders for our upcoming Energy Summit,” said CFB President Don Shawcroft. “Colorado is a national leader in energy production and innovation so it is only suiting that the first ever Energy Summit be held in Denver. Given Mr. Santorum and Mr. Gingrich’s clear understanding of the importance of developing domestic energy we look forward to hearing their input on this important subject that is driving the nation’s economic recovery.”

Colorado Farm Bureau has partnered with Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA), and the Colorado Oil and Gas Association to host the upcoming 2012 Colorado Election Energy Summit.
