UPDATE from Oct 12:

In just five days, County Farm Bureaus showed up and EXCEEDED the $10,000 contribution goal for the opposition campaign to Prop. 127. Bravo!
Because of this incredible work, the CFB Board of Directors has increased their match by $5,000! That means CFB has the potential to raise a total of $30,000 by October 17.

This new 5 by $5,000 campaign means the state will now match any other contributions over the next five days, up to $5,000.

THANK YOU to the counties that have contributed so far.

Letter to Colorado Farm Bureau Leaders and Members:

As you know, environmental activists have put an initiative, Proposition 127, on this year’s ballot that would ban hunting bobcats and mountain lions in Colorado. If implemented, Prop. 127 would negatively impact Colorado’s ability to manage its wildlife populations. We do not have much time to stop this “ballot box biology”, and CFB needs your help to ensure that this ballot initiative does not pass.

Colorado Farm Bureau’s State Board has already donated $10,000 to opposition efforts Opposing Prop. 127 but there’s more room to help!

CFB is asking for your support for our 10 by 10 campaign; For every dollar donated by CFB counties over the next 10 days, we’ll match the donation, up to $10,000.

If your county board plans to make a donation, please contact Tim Miller so that the state office can track contributions to be matched. Time is of the essence. Ballots will begin arriving in mailboxes across the state on Friday, October 11th, 2024. Therefore, we need to have donations within the next ten days as ballots begin to go out, and voters begin to make their decisions.

Why you should VOTE NO on Prop. 127:

  • Trophy hunting is already illegal in Colorado, and existing state and federal law protect lynx from harvest
  • Hunting in Colorado is already regulated through science and does not negatively impact the stability of the wildlife populations
  • It will disproportionately impact Colorado’s rural communities

For more information or to pledge support contact the state office as soon as possible. Help us defeat this terrible ballot initiative.
